FOOTBALL
Chase and his buddy Carson after the game!!
So, it was Chase's night to shine! He ran the ball well and even scored a touchdown. I got the touchdown -- along with the L.T. dance in the endzone -- (I have no idea who that is but that is what Chase called the dance he did) on the video camera and I don't know how to download that onto the computer. Here are a couple of plays that I got on my camera!
I think football has to be one of my favorite sports to watch at this age. The kids actually move, run plays and pull flags as if they are playing the real game. It goes pretty quickly and the kids have a blast. A couple more games and the season is over. Chase will be bummed but basketball is right around the corner!
GIRL'S WEEKEND
It was Jason's turn to be in charge as me and my friends headed up to spend some time with our friend Becca. This is the second year we've done this and it is turning into a fun tradition --at least for the mom's. We went out to dinner Friday night and then, of course, talked until early in the morning. Saturday, after Becca's husband Dave cooked us breakfast, we headed into Aspen for some shopping and fun. Thank goodness for the Farmer's market because who can afford $1200 for a purse. We took the gondola to the top of the ski hill and ate lunch at the top. It was beautiful. The trees were changing colors and it felt like fall.

He's growing up
Jackson had to give his first talk in sacrament meeting this week. He was really scared. He wrote his talk by himself and only had Jason look at it to make sure it was okay. (Notice how he didn't have me check it!) He did great. We had two missionaries who were leaving this week speaking also so the chapel was REALLY full. I am so proud of Jackson and how he is choosing to live his life. Great job bud. Be ready because you'll probably have to speak again in 6 months!

TO THE ZOO
So Kaci and I ventured to the zoo today with our friends Brenna, Maddie and baby Eliza. For some reason Kaci was afraid of the animals. She was afraid of them coming to get her. She's been to the zoo before and hasn't acted like this. While it got better towards the end because I would tap on the glass (yes I know you are not supposed to tap on the glass), she still was a little hesitant. It started with the bears. I guess the tree thing kind of freaked her out. I don't know.

Another Conversation with Chase
So Chase. What did you learn about in Church?
Not to drink wine and swirlies. Wine is an alcohol.
Not to drink wine and not to swear. Those are good things to learn about.
No we learned about swirlies.
What?
Our teacher told us a story about when he was in college some of his friends wanted him to drink wine and he wouldn't, so they gave him a swirlie.
What is a swirlie?
A swirlie is when they stick your head in the toilet and then flush it. So you should not drink wine or alcohol even if you get a swirlie.

NAME THAT TUNE
Kaci is singing this song constantly at our house. Can you name it?
(She got stuck on the verse so this is verse 1 about 3 times)
Here is the chorus and the part of the 2nd verse.
ANSWER: She is singing Jonas Brothers Burnin' up!

BOWLING
The younger kids didn't have school on Friday (it seems like they never have school but that is another issue.) Poor Jackson had to go to school. We decided to go bowling with our friends the Fillerups. Here are Kaci and Kaylee and just for the record I did not plan on the matching polka dots.
Kaci's Hair
Here is a picture of Kaci when she wakes up in the morning.
FOOTBALL
Instead of soccer, Chase decided to play flag football. It has been pretty fun to watch. The coaches (our friend Jeff and Jason--who got dragged into it) pick a player of the day who runs the ball, plays quarterback and does all of the cool stuff. Chase's day to shine is coming up but here is a video of him playing quarterback and passing it off to his friend Carson.

Chase's exciting day!
Friday, Chase ran up to me after school yelling "I LOST A TOOTH!!" He was eating an apple for lunch and that did the trick. I didn't even know it was loose. Most of his friends have lost teeth so for him to lose it at school, have to go to the school nurse and then get to bring the tooth home in the plastic treasure chest that the nurse gives you for loosing teeth at school, he was VERY excited. He told me that he sure hoped the tooth fairy brought him 25 cents. (The other kids quickly informed him that the tooth fairy brings $1. If only he was our first...)
Labor Day Fun!
The kids have been begging Jason to take them to WaterWorld all summer. So, Monday (even though it wasn't suppose to be that warm) we packed up and went with our neighbors the Romeros. It ended up being a fairly warm day and because it wasn't suppose to be too warm it scared a lot of people away. Bonus for us! (Frank even got us free tickets -- another bonus!)
Here's Jackson in the wave pool! Him and his friends had a pass this summer and spent at least one day a week here. He still had fun, even if it wasn't as exciting for him.
