MY BROKEN KNIFE a.k.a. PUMPKIN CARVING TIME!!

Do you see my nice Cutco knife? (My favorite knife!)  Yes, Jason is holding my knife that broke in half while carving the pumpkins.  Not much to say except that the warranty better replace it.

It was pumpkin carving time. We seem to add pumpkins every year. Kaci didn't care last year but this year she did so Jason began the process of pumpkin carving. First, the seeds.  Chase thought it was cool.
Jackson's white pumpkin smelt like a zucchini.
"NO WAY AM I STICKING MY HAND IN THERE?"
"This is so gross!"
That gross job was done and Jason began carving.  Here are all four.  Can you guess who's is who's?

Kaylee went for the jolly, happy one.
Jackson carved his own this year.  Great job, buddy!!
Kaci still wasn't too in to it.  "Halloween is scary mommy."  (especially the brown gumby looking guys at Target but that is another story!)
"Look at my cool design!"
We had a fun night carving the pumpkins.  Thank goodness Jason enjoys it because I am more like Kaci.  I am not sticking my hand into that pumpkin to pull out yucky seeds.  I'll stick to taking the pictures.

BEING THE YOUNGEST

I find it interesting that Kaci and even Chase has discovered and done things that I never let my other kids do at their age.  Case in point.

Harry Potter came out in the theaters when Jackson was in kindergarten.  He had a couple of friends who were going (they both had older siblings) but we decided not to go.  Poor Jackson first saw Harry Potter when it came out on video.  He then started to read the books and Harry Potter Mania at our house began.  When the fourth one came to the theaters, it was PG-13.  My new rule became that if he wanted to see it in the theaters then he had to read the book first. That worked for Jackson and Kaylee, who joined us in the movie theater for #5.  Now Chase is into the books and movies and much to Kaylee's dismay he got to see #4 and #5 when they went to video even though he hadn't read the book.  (We heard the "It's not fair" argument many a times over that one!) Chase is almost done reading book 1 and is going to be Fred Weasley for Halloween.  (Noticed how he picked the class clown.  That ought to give you insight into his personality.)  The past few days I have been finding Kaci with Chase's wand saying  "Wingardium Leviosa!"  I had to chuckle that here my 2 1/2 year old has seen Harry Potter enough that she knows what to do when you find a wand and then what to say.  I am sure the kids are still thinking "THAT'S NOT FAIR!"  but it sure is cute!

Happy 10th Kaylee!!

Can you believe that my baby is ten?  All she wanted for her birthday was a kareoke machine. Here she is jamming out!

She wanted to invite Lisa and Robbie and their family over for dinner.  On the menu?  Turkey, mashed potatoes, red jello with NO fruit, corn, rolls and no cake, just ice cream pie!  Here are Chase, Kaylee and Katelyn waiting for everyone to sing Happy Birthday so we could have dessert!
Here is the machine before it was assembled!!
Another favorite was the HSM3 build-a-bear.  Now she is planning a trip to the mall to stuff it!
I am still in shock that Kaylee is 10.  Where does the time go?  Instead of princesses and dolls, it is Webkinz and makeup.  She loves clothes, friends, music, singing and shopping!  What a fun girl to have in our home.  I love you Kaylee!!

HSM 3

Kaylee has been looking forward to this day for 6 months now. When Disney announced the release date for this film, she began to plan her birthday party. While her actual birthday is tomorrow, the party with her friends was this morning. 11 girls to the Saturday Morning showing of High School Musical 3. (A shout out to my friend Brenna who willingly gave up her Saturday morning to help me!!) Chase and his friend Hunter also came. We went about an hour early to make sure we got seats. We probably could have waited 15 minutes as we were the first ones in the theater but the seats did fill up quickly. There were A LOT of tweener girls for this one. After the movie, we went back to the house for pizza, cake, ice cream and presents.

The girls loved the movie and talked about it constantly while they were eating their pizza and cake. They played a HSM 3 game that Kaylee picked out with her Grandma G. The sing along version of HSM 3 opens up Nov. 7th. That one should be interesting -- a whole bunch of girls screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs. What a fun time Kaylee had with all of her friends.

A HAPPY DAY!!

My favorite store in Salt Lake FINALLY opened a store in Colorado and it happens to be at the mall by my house.  Today was the grand opening.  Lucky for Jason, they gave everyone 25% off their entire purchase.  One less thing on my to do list in Salt Lake.  Now if we could only get a Cafe Rio!!

FHE at the Pumpkin Patch

It is an annual thing for us to spend a Monday Night at the pumpkin patch.  The kids love picking out their own perfect pumpkin and going through the hay maze and petting the animals. Kaci really got it this year and was running through the patch trying to pick out her pumpkin.  She probably would have taken home 5 small half green pumpkins  if Jason hadn't have helped her.
Chase could barely even lift his pumpkin!!
Dad helped Kaci pick out the perfect pumpkin.
Kaylee spent the most time looking for that special one.  She checked each pumpkin for marks on her quest for the perfect one.  She finally found it!!
Jackson decided to go a different route.  He wanted a white pumpkin.  You can get those up by where you pay.  The skies opened up just as we were getting ready to pay so he had to find his pumpkin in the rain!!
New this year were these paintings that you stick your head into.  Jackson was bound and determined to be the girl!!
Chase is a perfect pumpkin with 2 teeth gone.
Here is the clan for the "scrapbooking pose".  Although it is also being called the blogging pose.
What a fun night at the pumpkin patch.  Can't wait to carve them next week.

EAT YOUR HEART OUT!!
