FRIENDS

Living away from family your friends become your family.  They are the ones you celebrate with, cry with and share your life with. A couple of years our friend the Burtons moved to Utah. It was a sad day for us as we had known them since almost the time we moved out to Colorado in 1997.  Tiff and Jason were so much like us and even converted to Gardner Rook. Our kids were all the same age and all got a long great. We have missed them a lot but especially during BYU football as we usually watched all of the games together. While we were in Utah, the kids and I met Tiff and her youngest Megan for lunch at the park. (Cafe Rio, of course!)  Megan and Kaci are 10 days apart so we were so excited to watch them grow us together but now we have to do this long distance.  We had fun catching up at the park and the kids had fun playing with Megan.

Here are Tiff and I and the girls.
My other friend Laura moved to Albequerque a few years back.  We haven't seen each other in at least 2 years.  A fluke thing brought her to Utah while I was there.  I picked her up from the airport and we went to (do I even have to say it?) Cafe Rio for lunch.  We had such a good time visiting and catching up.  It is amazing that you can pick up where you left off even after you haven't seen each other for so long.  (Sidenote: We didn't plan on both wearing green and I hate this picture of me but it is the only one I have. )  Thanks to my family for allowing me these quick moments away form them so I could visit my firends.
